Payment methods

Get paid wherever your customers pay.

Mobile money, bank transfer, USSD and cards: every channel listed here is available in the API, with the connections able to carry it. Plug two into the same mobile money channel, and your payments have a fallback route.

Pick a region, then a country.

The planet dives into the region and lifts its countries out. For each country: the payment methods open in the API, and the connections that carry them.

Connections

Two ways to open a channel.

The Wajub rail, no provider contract

The Wajub rail collects in 14 countries with no contract to sign with a provider, through Wajub's partner agreements. Access is on request from the dashboard: you choose the countries and channels, Wajub approves.

Everywhere, your own accounts

Other connections use your credentials with the provider, such as CinetPay, pawaPay, Flutterwave or the operators' APIs. You keep your contract, and Wajub picks the best route for every payment.

Cards

Cards, wherever your accounts allow it.

The card channel is not tied to a country: it depends on the card provider you connect and on the settlement currency. You never name the brand, Wajub reads it from the number.

Frequently asked questions

In which countries can I collect payments with Wajub?
Wajub opens 69 mobile money and bank channels in 24 African countries, from Senegal to Kenya. Visa and Mastercard cards are not tied to any country: they work wherever your card provider accepts them.
How do I enable a payment method on Wajub?
In the Wajub dashboard, under Orchestration, connect a provider with your own credentials, or request access to the Wajub rail, with no contract, for the countries and channels you choose: Wajub approves the request. The payment methods then open on your checkout, first in the sandbox and then in production.
Why is a channel not open on my account yet?
Some providers must first enable the channel on their side, for your merchant account. Until they do, Wajub cannot open it. The list of channels open on your account is available at any time in the API, with GET /providers.
Does Wajub fallback protect against an operator outage?
Fallback protects against a gateway outage: Wajub sends the payment again through another connection that carries the same channel. If the operator itself is down, MTN MoMo for example, every connection to it is affected and no route can go through.
What if an operator is not covered yet?
Every provider added to the Wajub catalog opens its countries and channels, and this page updates with it. For a specific operator, contact the Wajub team: new integrations are prioritised by merchant demand.
